Peter Capaldi taking over the TARDIS on Doctor Who was a clear sign that aspects of the show will go in a different direction. The previous few Doctors (aside from John Hurt’s in The Day of the Doctor) were younger. Capaldi is a return to a more traditional Doctor; an older one.
The mid-season cliffhanger for Supernatural left Dean betrayed and emotionally distraught. And evidently desperate to make things right. Somewhat.
The Christmas special for Doctor Who, The Time of the Doctor, saw the last appearance of Matt Smith as the Doctor and the brief introduction of Peter Capaldi taking over the role. And it was one hell of an introduction.

Much like SkyNet, it keeps rising from the ashes. Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures are bringing it back on the big screen and on television.
Over the weekend — and on Monday — BBC’s 50th anniversary special of Doctor Who, The Day of the Doctor aired, and was screened in theaters. Ignoring ticket sales and U.K. ratings, the special is BBC America’s highest-rated broadcast. It’s safe to say that Doctor Who is immensely popular.
The CW continues with the direction of becoming a genre network. This time they’re setting their sights on rebooting 1980s horror anthology, Tales from the Darkside.
