Gary Oldman’s Dramatic Reading of a Jersey Shore Recap
I despise the MTV show Jersey Shore — and well, almost everything MTV puts out — but in a single act of glory, Jimmy Kimmel presented the extremely talented Gary Oldman, who performed a dramatic reading of a Jersey Shore recap.
Oh, Gary Oldman — can you do no wrong? (It’s a rhetorical question. Of course he can’t.)
Warehouse 1904’s Assassin vs Assassin: Ignition
My friends at Warehouse 1904 have released a short on their official YouTube page. So, of course, I want you all to check it out. And tell your friends!
New Show Revolution by Eric Kripke and J.J. Abrams
Show creators Eric Kripke of Supernatural and J.J. Abrams of Lost have become a collaborative force behind a new show written by Kripke, entitled Revolution. Abrams will produce with his company Bad Robot.
Excited yet?
That’s a rhetorical question — of course you’re excited!
In usual fashion, Abrams is remaining quiet about the premise for the new show, only sharing that it’s an epic adventure thriller.
Here’s an interview with J.J. Abrams about the collaboration with Eric Kripke on Revolution.
Now have Misha Collins star in it and I’m in. All in. Oh, who am I kidding? Regardless of who will star in it, I’m really stoked to see their collaboration come to fruition.
Ricky Gervais to Yet Again Host the Golden Globes
You would think the Golden Globes learned its lesson the last time Ricky Gervais hosted and gleefully roasted celebrities left and right. But no. They didn’t. They instead invited Gervais to host the 69th Golden Globes Awards — I can already see a vulgar joke right there. And yes, it’s official that the man will host for the third time.
Battlestar Galactica Adapted as Feature Length Film
After the original Battlestar Galactica, the continuation Galactica 1980 and Ron Moore’s highly regarded re-imagining of Battlestar Galactica, comes a fourth outing for the show.
Arrested Development Actually Back?
After countless cruel jokes about Arrested Development coming back on the air, it’s finally going to happen. At a recent reunion at the New York Festival, the creators and cast revealed their plans for a spinoff of the show.
Jersey Shore Won’t Get Tax Credit
The polarizing reality show Jersey Shore will not receive a tax break for filming in the state; the show’s producer 495 Productions will not receive $420,000 — and thank god. The Italian Americans who were against the show got a tiny victory when New Jersey Governor Chris Christie had this to say, “I am duty-bound to ensure that taxpayers are not footing a $420,000 bill for a project which does nothing more than perpetuate misconceptions about the state and its citizens.”
Frankly, it was a good move by the state. Taxpayers shouldn’t pay for some reality show. Sure, it might have moments of entertainment, but overall, Jersey Shore is garbage.
