Quote of the Day
Quote of the day:
“Well, it’s embarrassing if you have a brother with a real doctorate. [Laughs.] I called him up without thinking—I was so excited!—and said, ‘You won’t believe it! They called me out the blue. I’m going to be just like you! Dr. Kilmer.’ There was a long pause, and I immediately realized what a mistake this phone call was.”
–Val Kilmer during an interview with Vanity Fair about his eccentric play Citizen Twain.
Which, by the way, sounds like a very interesting endeavor. Kilmer researched Mark Twain for several years; and he wrote, will direct, and star in his one-man show.

Jersey Shore Won’t Get Tax Credit
The polarizing reality show Jersey Shore will not receive a tax break for filming in the state; the show’s producer 495 Productions will not receive $420,000 — and thank god. The Italian Americans who were against the show got a tiny victory when New Jersey Governor Chris Christie had this to say, “I am duty-bound to ensure that taxpayers are not footing a $420,000 bill for a project which does nothing more than perpetuate misconceptions about the state and its citizens.”
Frankly, it was a good move by the state. Taxpayers shouldn’t pay for some reality show. Sure, it might have moments of entertainment, but overall, Jersey Shore is garbage.

Foo Fighters Crash Westboro Baptist Church Protest

It’d be hilarious if more performers do this to Westboro — basically invalidating their protests of hate by turning each one into a fun, little concert.
