netflixNetflix made the decision in 2011 to make a significant change in their service. They split online streaming and DVD/Blu-ray into two different services, effectively making customers pay double if they want to have both. It received backlash from customers, but not enough to revert things back. Money is money after all.

Amazon to Produce Zombieland Series

zombielandIn 2009 a unique movie called Zombieland hit the theaters with biting humor towards zombie films. The writing was witty, and the movie had a cast who had brilliant comedic timing. It had a self-contained story and didn’t feel like it needed a sequel. Regardless, there were attempts.

S-VHS Debuted at Sundance

A small film known simply as V/H/S has quietly been making rounds in the movie circuit and on Netflix. V/H/S is a collection of found-footage shorts, with one story used to present the others, formatting it as a horror anthology.

Dracula on NBC

draculaNBC is putting a new spin on Dracula with their new show; it’s taking Bram Stoker’s Dracula and putting him in 1890s London, posing as an American entrepreneur named Allen Grayson. He intends to carry out revenge against those who ruined his life centuries ago, while bringing “modern science” to the Victorian era. But there’s one problem: Mina is reincarnated as a medical student named . . . you guessed it! Mina. So obviously romance blooms and puts a damper on Grayson’s plans.

Sure, they were victorious, but there was no resolution to the overarching plot. President Snow and the Capitol were still in control.
