It wasn’t much of a surprise when it became official that Vin Diesel will portray Groot in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Marvel made it known that Diesel was in talks for a project, and Diesel dropped more than a hint on his Facebook.
As everyone knows by now, Marvel’s Phase 2 is underway with Iron Man 3 out on Blu-ray and Thor: The Dark World in theaters. Next up is Captain America: The Winter Soldier, with Chris Evans reprising his role as Steve Rogers. Empire Online released their magazine cover that features just that.
The first movie in the rebooted Terminator franchise is entitled Terminator: Genesis. But who is going to play the role of Sarah Connor was up in the air. There was speculation, but things have become official: Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke will take up the role.

An international trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is online, with more character moments thrown in with the action shots. Peter’s interactions with Aunt May and Gwen Stacy feel genuine (and funny), while his Spider-Man is as sarcastic as ever in the heat of the moment.
The sequel to the incredibly successful Marvel movie, The Avengers, has the team returning with newcomers Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson). Tony Stark’s BFF was missing from the first film, but Bruce Banner was an excellent rebound. But now it looks like there will be some awkward romance, with Don Cheadle’s James Rhodey officially in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The film adaptation of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is still in theaters, but the third movie (which is being split in two) Mockingjay, is well underway.
The time is fast approaching, so the trailer for the Doctor Who Christmas special, The Time of the Doctor, is upon us. And as we already know, it’s also the special where we will see the regeneration into the new Doctor with Peter Capaldi.
