The trailer for 28 Years Later has been out; following the ongoing aftermath of 28 Days Later. Much like how the first movie was one of the first to use digital cameras to film, this movie is one of the first to use phone cameras for a feature film.
For the original movie, they shot on Canon digital cameras due to brief shoots at locations where they only had roughly 45 minutes at a time. Digital cameras were far easier to quickly set up and tear down for shoots. Filming this way also gave the move its feel that adds to its atmosphere.
Much like the experimenting with the original, 28 Years Later went all in on using phone cameras. And really, it looks like it adds something a little different to the cinematography, and pushes filming in an interesting direction. And much like the original normalizing digital cameras for movies, this one just might do the same for phone cameras.
