The graphic novel by Daniel Schaffer, The Scribbler, has received the film adaptation treatment. Ruby Katie Cassidy stars as Suki, a woman who suffers from multiple personality disorder, and uses an experimental machine called “the Siamese Burn” to eliminate each one.
Also in the movie are Whedon alums, Michelle Trachtenberg and Eliza Dushku, along with Garret Dillahunt. And I gotta say, I’m stoked about Dillahunt’s involvement. He easily stole the show in the second season of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles; not to mention, the bit part he had in Looper.
If the poster is any indication, the film will be aesthetically stylized. It would compliment the premise nicely. And speaking of the premise, the screenplay was written by Schaffer himself.
The Scribbler is slated for release May 1, 2014.
