The CW continues with the direction of becoming a genre network. This time they’re setting their sights on rebooting 1980s horror anthology, Tales from the Darkside.
The show would follow the same format as the original, showcasing 30 minute standalone episodes.
The network looks to possibly begin airing Tales from the Darkside as soon as this summer. It’s an odd start date for a series, but the CW has proven success with the rebooted Whose Line is it Anyway?, which began airing during the summer.
Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, producers of Sleepy Hollow are collaborating with author Joe Hill to develop the reboot.
I have fond childhood memories of horror anthologies; sneaking into the living room to watch. They were terrifying to me back then.
I’m a fan of a bunch of CW shows, so the idea of them rebooting Tales from the Darkside sounds great. Sneak in the Winchesters here and there and we’re golden.
