Days ago, news came out on Edgar Wright’s pesky little Ant-Man movie for Marvel. Things are finally picking up, with two actors in the running for the title role: Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd.
Wright recently tweeted a photo that shows someone in the Ant-Man costume, proving that pre-production is underway. Of course it’s a stuntman and not one of the actors named — unless someone can identify that butt for us? (I kid.)
Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish of Attack the Block wrote the script together.
Oh yeah, who the heck is Ant-Man? What’s wrong with you? How do you not know? I’m kidding. Again. He’s kinda like Aquaman. But cooler. And smarter. By which I mean he’s Henry Pym, a scientist who created a substance that allows him to change his size and communicate with insects. But he can also become big and crush all you puny humans like . . . insects.
The release date for Ant-Man was moved up to July 31, 2015; also known as still entirely too long.
I’m very much looking forward to the film. Wright’s humor is biting, and frankly, hilarious. It makes it more exciting that Marvel seemed to have given directors more control over the feel of their movies for Phase 2. Phase 3 is gonna be great.
