Near the end of April, actor Tom Hiddleston was in talks to star in the remake of The Crow. Eric Draven’s brooding-yet-playful attitude is comparable to Loki, which would make a smooth transition for Hiddleston. Unfortunately, he did not get the role.
Director F. Javier Gutierrez finally found his leading man in Welsh actor, Luke Evans.
Who is Luke Evans? He portrayed Zeus in Tarsem Singh’s beautifully shot, Immortals, and starred with John Cusack in The Raven. With that said, it’s only natural that Evans would star in The Crow, isn’t it?
Evans also plays the antagonist in the upcoming and anticipated Fast & Furious 6.
As much as I would’ve liked to see Hiddleston in the role, Evans is a good choice. He can use his background in theater acting to bring out the rockstar theatrics in Draven.
