At this point it comes as no surprise that director Bryan Singer continues to post photos from X-Men: Days of Future Past, a movie that brings together his X-Men films and the outstanding X-Men: First Class.

This time Singer posted a behind the scenes shot of Jennifer Lawrence getting makeup applied as Mystique. Singer captioned it as “vengeful”, which implies Mystique has a chip on her shoulder — perhaps against James McAvoy’s Charles Xavier? Their relationship became more distant at the end of First Class, and their opposing opinions could drive a further wedge between them.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is in theaters July 17, 2014.
