The cast for Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past is already massive with new and old faces, and it seems like additions won’t end. The latest news is a rumor, but it comes from James McAvoy, the actor who portrays the young version of Charles Xavier.
“It’s huge, the cast is huge. You got me,
[Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender,] Nick Hoult will be back and he’s just blossoming massively over [in America]. Sir Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Alan Cumming, Peter Dinklage I hear mentioned – I don’t know if that’s happening. “Huge” Jackman is coming back. He’s massive. He’s about 7-foot-5 and musclier than Satan in the film Legend.”-McAvoy to Heat Radio
Wait a second — Alan Cumming? He played Nightcrawler in X2: X-Men United; he had the memorable White House scene, not to mention, he easily stole the show whenever he was on screen. But Cumming did not reprise his role in the third film. A big reason was the hours he had to spend in the makeup chair each day.
It’s not exactly official, but one of the current actors mentioned Alan Cumming for Days of Future Past. And I hope it’s true. Nightcrawler was easily my favorite in X2.
X-Men: Days of Future Past comes to theaters July 18, 2014.
