Despite the lackluster Terminator Salvation and the cancellation of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, the franchise continues forward. After a few hiccups, the new film in development picked up two screenwriters with different backgrounds.
Laeta Kalogridis, whose past work focused on action and thriller genres, and Patrick Lussier, who wrote horror films, are working in tandem to write the latest Terminator movie. It’s clear that the studio wants to bring back the horror elements from the first that was sorely missing in the later films, and also not forget that the action is just as important.
I always enjoyed the franchise despite how ridiculous it can get sometimes. Or maybe it’s just nostalgia. Nonetheless, having Kalogridis and Lussier laying down the foundation for the new film is a really good start.
