sifFilming for Thor: The Dark World is well underway with Game of Thrones very own Alan Taylor taking over directing duties; which of course means there’s changes for Thor’s second outing. Jaimie Alexander, who plays Sif, sat down with to discuss the new film and Sif’s relationship with the god of thunder.

But what about Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster? She was only a namedrop and photo in The Avengers, but she makes a full return in The Dark World to accompany Thor and admire his muscles and dashing personality.

Anyway!

Like with any Shakespearean story, the relationships are complicated. No, of course Thor is not a Shakespeare play, but the influences are there. Sif’s and Thor’s relationship is complicated. There’s a brother and sister dynamic, but there’s hints of something more there. Cue the collective “ew” from the audience. But hey! They aren’t related, so it’s cool, right?

On Taylor directing, Alexander explained that he’s brought a more Viking feel; more gladiators-in-battle than your usual superhero flick. The new direction makes perfect sense for Thor. If there’s one thing missing from the previous film, it was a Game of Thrones feel with the battles.

Thor: The Dark World hits theaters November 8.
