Marvel and Joss Whedon have been hard at work on bringing S.H.I.E.L.D. to television. Whedon is spearheading the show and writing the pilot with his brother, Jed, and Maurissa Tancharoen; who have all worked together on Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.
Brett Dalton will play Agent Grant Ward, Ming-Na as Agent Melinda May, Ian De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Gemma Simmons, and Chloe Bennet as Agent Sky. Oh, and best of all, Clark Gregg reprises his role as the popular and formidable agent of all: Phil Coulson.
To put it frankly: I’m very excited for the pilot. Whedon is brilliant with ensemble shows; look at Firefly for instance. And the fact that Gregg is starring is a huge plus. The man has a lot of charisma and comedic timing. Which is funny in retrospect since in Iron Man he played the character straight and boring.
S.H.I.E.L.D. airs fall of 2013 on ABC. I can’t wait.
