Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel is approaching completion — and after Marvel’s success with The Avengers — Snyder is being asked if his movie is the beginning of Warner Bros.’ and DC’s own shared universe towards a Justice League film. He didn’t give a clear answer, but who can blame him? There’s still a lot of groundwork for Justice League and Snyder’s focus should stay on his version of Superman.
“Um, how can I answer that? I can’t really say anything to that, because that’s a big spoiler. I will say, yeah, they trust me to keep them on course…
I don’t know how Justice League is going to be handled. Honestly, I don’t. But the Man of Steel exists, and Superman is in it. I don’t know how you’d move forward without acknowledging that.”
–Zack Snyder
A bit of a sidestep of an answer, but just enough to drum up speculation for Man of Steel‘s connection to the Justice League movie. It makes sense, especially since Green Lantern turned out not being the success they had hoped for. Though, I still find it hard to see how they’ll bring about various superheroes who are essentially overpowered on their own as a team and still have suspension of disbelief. It could potentially look too much like a cartoon.
Superman returns to theaters in Man of Steel June 14, 2013.
