Filming is underway for Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World and as expected, photos are surfacing online from the set. One of the not-so-surprising things is Chris Hemsworth wearing new armor for the Thor sequel.

The new costume doesn’t stray far from the versions in Thor and The Avengers, but alterations are apparent. The most obvious changes are the cape fasteners being simplified and flaps over the pants, which look more armored than previously.

To sum it up: Thor’s new armor has a much more medieval feel, which fits what director Alan Taylor is looking for. After all, the man has directed a number of Game of Thrones episodes. Combining elements from both would make a nice fit.
