Fox and Marvel have steadily moved along with The Wolverine, starring Hugh Jackman. Before anyone groans, the second film is its own entity, away from the horrible misstep known as X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

The Wolverine will follow Logan’s adventures through Japan and ultimately, his encounters with the antagonist, Silver Samurai.

The first official photo of Hugh Jackman as Logan was released on Marvel’s Facebook page, showcasing the man striking a pose that’s reminiscent of Bruce Lee.

Hopefully Fox’s second try at Wolverine will prove successful — especially after the stress they’re feeling from Marvel Studios’ own success.

The Wolverine hits theaters July 26, 2013.
