Paramount is picking up the horror spec script for Hauntrepreneur, written by Scott Rosenberg (Con Air, October Road). The film will be produced by Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form’s Platinum Dunes.

A family moves into a new town, and to help adjust and bring them together, they hire a man known as a “hauntrepreneur” to create a haunted house. To carry out his task, he hires a cast of characters to populate the house to create the illusion of a haunting.

The premise reminds me of House on Haunted Hill, but the supposed tone is similar to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which will add a different spin to things.
