Mr. and Mrs. Smith only came out in 2005, but Regency Enterprises is already moving forward with rebooting the film. Akiva Goldsman is set to produce.
Apparently a reason for rebooting the movie is to keep the name-brand while casting new actors who aren’t as expensive as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. I know I condoned a few reboots which I felt were necessary, but is this one necessary? This seems a lot more like the studio just wants to cut huge corners to make a quick buck. I guess now is a good time to say that reboots are the new sequels?

The main reason people liked Mr. and Mrs. Smith was Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. The movie wasn’t even very good compared to others with similar content. Hollywood movies are so lazy.
I actually enjoyed Mr. & Mrs. Smith. but I don’t think a reboot is necessary. You would think they would have learned after an unsuccessful attempt of a tv show based off of the movie.
