So many reboots this year. A teaser for Mortal Kombat has recently surfaced with Michael Jai White as Jax. The tone leans towards realistic and gritty; straying from cartoonish violence that the last film had. It’s only speculation if this is a teaser for a new Mortal Kombat movie or if it’s a live-action trailer for a new video game since E3 is around the corner. Either way, it’s a refreshing take on the franchise.

I believe this is a live action trailer for Mortal Kombat 9. This past year, Ed Boon has confirmed that Mortal Kombat 9 is a reboot to the series, going back to it’s violent gory gameplay, used the term “dark and gritty,” and that it was simply going to be called Mortal Kombat.
Ed Boon also said that the reboot of the video game would lead to all-new characters with Sub-Zero and Scorpion being the only original reoccurring characters. There is a chance that has been changed — it could go either way.
actually i heard this was an trailer made to show the studios that a mk reboot should be made.
